Missabittatitti
Story
Dragons Abreast Brisbane is a member group of Dragons Abreast Australia.
We are known as Missabittatitti, or MBT for short. We are fortunate to be members of Brisbane River Dragons, one of Australia’s largest dragon boat and outrigger canoe clubs.
Paddling all year round on the picturesque Brisbane River near the Gateway Bridge, we often find ourselves amongst cruise ships, tug boats, river ferries, yachts and other small craft. Missabittatitti has a total membership of 65 Breast Cancer Survivors and 23 Supporters. 69 MBT members & friends are travelling to Florence to participate at the 2018 IBCPC festival in Florence, with fellow survivors from around the globe.
We paddle to show there is life after a breast cancer diagnosis, and to honour those who have passed. We paddle with those who can, as well as for those who cannot.
We are doing our part in the fight against breast cancer and have decided to make a difference by creating our very own fundraising appeal for Dragons Abreast Australia. Through here you can easily support our efforts by making a secure donation. We would also really appreciate it if you could share our page above or comment below so more people know about it.
Click 'Please click the big pink Donate button' to make a secure online donation.
All donations of $2 or more are tax deductible and you will be issued with a tax receipt.
Thanks so much for your support!Activity
Dragons Abreast Australia
Dragons Abreast Australia is a national organisation comprised of breast cancer survivors (and some very special supporters) of various ages from a great variety of backgrounds, athletic abilities and interests. Dragons Abreast members provide a “face” for the breast cancer statistics whilst spreading the message of breast cancer awareness through participation in the wonderful and strenuous sport of dragon boat racing. Dragons Abreast commenced in Australia in 1998, following in the footsteps of a study by Dr Don McKenzie and a group of breast cancer survivors in Vancouver.
